For the first time in its history, the 2018 FOSSUK AGM & Culture weekend being in Belfast. We are rather excited. We are sharing our draft programme with you so that you have plenty of time to plan and make sure you join us for what will be a cracking weekend. Our new Ambassador to the UK, Alexandre Fasel, and all four Consul Generals will be at the AGM and the Swiss Embassy have already confirmed sponsorship of the traditional pre-dinner reception on Saturday evening.
This is a rare opportunity to meet compatriots from all the corners of the UK and make new connections. There are many relevant issues that are discussed and where our members are updated at the FOSSUK AGM, especially currently with implications of Brexit on Swiss living in the UK and OSA's activities on the extremely sensitive issues of e-Voting and pushing parliament to bring into law, the right of every Swiss national living abroad to have a bank account with a recognised Swiss bank. We are currently working hard on updating the FOSSUK constitution, primarily to cater for the now 5 UK Delegates (was 4 until this year) and there will be many other important issues that need voting on.
At the AGM, only our Members vote on issues, but we welcome guests to join us for cultural and social activies and informative talks after the AGM.
