A NEW EVENT FROM THE BRITISH-SWISS CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

'Modern Trends in Philanthropy'

5.30 - 8.30pm, Monday 1st April 2019

Collyer Bristow Art Gallery, 4 Bedford Row, London, WC1R 4TF

In times of economic transformation and reconsideration of the social contract, philanthropy plays a growing role as “risk capital for the public good” – reaching populations in need the public sector finds hard to serve, piloting powerful new solutions on long-standing social and environmental challenges, and offering a sense of purpose in a complex, volatile world.

This new seminar will be chaired by James Badcock, Partner, Collyer Bristow.  Speakers will include:

Anne-Marie de Weck VP - Fondation Philanthropia - Lombard Odier, and President of the BSCC will give a keynote address that will review the main trends in modern philanthropy, and then illustrate them with carefully selected examples of philanthropic work.

Duncan MacIntyre, CEO, Lombard Odier UK, will then present on the opportunities for charities to align their investments with their mission - to unlock additional impact and achieve their goals in a sustainable and responsible manner.

Guest speaker Tony S. Matharu founder and Board Member of a number of UK registered charities will share his experiences of the sector both in the UK and internationally.

The session will close with the speakers taking part in a Q&A session where delegates will have the opportunity to ask questions and share their views on the state of modern philanthropy.

This is the first seminar focused on philanthropy organized by the BSCC and our goal is to hold an event on this annual basis.  If you or your organization wish to know more about how to sponsor, host or take part in future programmes please contact Jane Wicks, Events Consultant, BSCC on jane.wicks@bscc.co.uk
