From the 10th to the 12th of August 2018, the 96th Congress of the Swiss Abroad in Visp will take place in the middle of the beautiful Valais mountains.

The forthcoming congress on "Switzerland without Europe - Europe without Switzerland" shows that relations between Switzerland and Europe are a topic that largely goes beyond the European question. It has a global dimension, not only because of the resulting consequences for Switzerland, but also because of the domestic and foreign policy or even the economic impact.  

The highlight of the congress will be a speech by the new Federal Council Ignazio Cassis, who on 1 November 2017 succeeds Didier Burkhalter as head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA). During the congress, participants will also have the opportunity to meet fellow countrymen from all over the world, learn about the latest news in Switzerland and talk about their own experiences. Exciting speeches by interesting personalities from the Swiss economy and politics as well as a multifaceted supporting program with Valais folklore and living traditions complete the program of the 96th Congress of the Swiss Abroad.
